Lego Robotics | Biggar High School
Join ComputerXplorers in this fun filled, hands on workshop as we learn how to use robotics technology to build and program Lego robots which can move using motors, gears and sensors. We will also be finding out how robotics technology can be used and applied to modern day medicine.
Glasgow Science Centre - Bodyworks | Biggar High School
Get hands-on with a range of engaging physiology and anatomy-themed exhibits. They explore themes such as cardio-vascular fitness, body composition and the effects of lifestyle choices like smoking.
Tweed Foundation | Burn Braes
Get a close-up of the bugs and wildlife living in the Burnbraes, a tributary of the River Tweed and find out what they tell us about the health of our rivers and streams.
The Tweed Foundation promotes environmental protection and improvement by conserving and enhancing all species of freshwater fish and their environments in the Tweed District. It advances the understanding of aquatic ecosystems, including economic and social activity and river catchment management including the protection, conservation, rehabilitation and improvement of aquatic environments.
Stemovators | Biggar High School
Have a go at building your own small model electric car! Using engineering and problem solving skills. participants will fit the wheels, axels, charge it up and set it off on the racetrack – how far will your car go? This hands-on activity is aimed at children ages 8+
UK Dementia Research Institute | Gillespie Centre
Join Dementia researchers to learn how and why to keep your brain healthy. UK DRI researchers will also be demonstrating how ultrasensitive detection of proteins in blood samples can help us to understand brain health and how dementia affects the brain
Wee Science | Gillespie Centre
Child Scientists Wanted! Meet a team of developmental researchers from the University of Edinburgh’s Psychology department, studying how kids think. Find out more about their research, learn about the methods that they use and discover how developmental researchers use fun games and activities to learn more about children’s thinking skills!

Join Scientists from Thermofisher to see how components of chemical mixtures are separated using chromatography - demonstrated using colour separation.
